Annual Report 2009 - 2010

Namasthe to all,
With immense pleasure I welcome all, for the 17th Annual day celebration of our school, Malaviya Vidya Kendram, Kumarakovil and I am very happy to submit our school’s Annual Report in this pleasant evening.
Under the guidance of Vidya Bharathi, Malaviya Vidya Kendra follows the NCERT syllabus and recognized by the central government under the NIOS Scheme, accordingly we are conducting common exam for the pupils of 3 , 5 and 8 standards, In this academic year we have 215 students 15 teachers and 3 non-teaching staff.
Teachers Orientation Camp:-
As you all know every year the Teachers Orientation Camp and Trainings are being dutied by Vidya Bharathi. This year 5 of our teachers attended the summer camp. We are fortunate to have had 2 days at Ovari which was attended by teachers of all the seven schools of Malaviya Vidya Kendra.
The Parents Teachers Association meeting was a held on the 22nd of August under the quidence of Dr. Theiva Prakash. Our chief guest Thiru M. Sthanumoorthi Ji presided over the function. Almost all the parents attended the meeting and expressed their views and ideas for the betterment of MVK.
Education is the manifestation of perfection which is already in man” says Swami Vivekananda. Apart from school syllabus on standard basic we make our children to practice for few minutes everyday the devotional books like Thirukkural, Vinayakar Akaval, Ekathmatha sthothram, Siva Puranam, Thevaram, Thiruvasakom, Abirami anthathi, Thiruppavai, Thiruvenpavai etc., for spiritual development. Added to it more than twenty students wrote exams for Pradhamic, Madhyama and Rashtra Bhasha conducted by “Dhakshina Bharathi Hindi Prachar Sabha”.
Extra curricular Activities
With pride I would like to inform you that our pupil participated in the District Level competitions conducted by “Kumari Kalai Kazhakam” and won prizes in Elocution, music and dance.
Another competition held by “Bhagavat Gita Sasthra Prachara Trust” most of our pupils participated and Selvi.M. Bhargavi, VIIIth Std won the Prize in the district level competition held on
In addition to this our 4th std student P.V Abinanth won the district level competition and S. Bavithra won the Prize in the essay writing competition conducted by Vivekananda Kendra and Veda Academy respectively.
Under the guidance of our Vidhya Jyothi teachers we make our pupils write exams for the grades of Lower, middle and Higher in Vedic Classes conducted by Velllimalai Ashramam.
Academic competitions like music, elocution, hand writing, recitation and drawing are being conducted in our school every month in order to train and encourage each and every student. We also enable our students to improve their mental and physical abilities through surya namaskar, yoga and other exercises for an hour every day.
To create confidence and make the subject more easier we include Vedic mathematics. The training with respect to it was given to our teachers on the first and second of August by Thiru. Rajendran Ji effectively.
We celebrate national festivals like Independence day, Republic day, and religious festivals like Guru Pooja and Raksha Bhandan. Children are seen in fine colours on Krishna Jayanthi and recite bhajans at Kumarkovil temple.
In our school campus we have Rashtra Sevika Samithi shaka every week. On

This year we had one day’s tour programme on 8th of January 2010. We took our students to the spinning Mill in Aralvaimozhi, to know more about spinning and Bay watch for entertainment.
To encourage the children to save money, small savings scheme is being followed in our school. Last year we achieved an amount which exceeded Rs. 15000.
We thank all the well-wishers, who helped for the growth and development of our school. Moreover we request you all to extend the same support and co-operation for further development of our school. With this let me conclude my Annual Report. Once again let me thank one and all.
